World Pyroolympics - POSTPONED
The incessant rains and flooding during the past months have rendered the firing area almost unfit for pyrotechnics launchings which have certain international standards to observe. The participating countries have thus agreed to postpone the event.
Tickets purchased will still be honored on the new event dates. Final dates will be announced very soon on this website. Please keep checking for updates. Ticket holders are requested to contact our hotlines at 568-6908 / 384-0239 or log on to www.worldpyroolympics.com for more details.
The World Pyro Olympics is still set to deliver the GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH. Stay posted for details.
Possible to ever edit a powerpoint show?
Yes, indeedy! All you have to do is open the Powerpoint application, and then open the powerpoint show from File > Open. Save it AS a .ppt file and then go edit away.
Why use TinyURL
Tinyurl.com substitutes a long URL into a shorter one. This is an advantage to shorten it so that recipients of your links need not cut and paste but just click on the hyperlink.
For example, instead of writing the link below:
http://apps.facebook.com/paypalwishlist/?ppref=612732203&ref=mf&auth_token=3c59ace4db396b3f3974819002195007&auth_token=662504ab6e8f97b22f15ef7add22cdddhttp://apps.facebook.com/paypalwishlist/?ppref=612732203&ref=mf&auth_token=3c59ace4db396b3f3974819002195007&auth_token=662504ab6e8f97b22f15ef7add22cddd&auth_token=80cb3c5407ac21324c6fc79f558e0741
I used TinyURL to "tinyfy" it into:
http://tinyurl.com/yf8gppz
Want to check it out? Compare the two links.
Try it! I do like it!

Alternative DVD / video player: VLC www.videolan.org/vlc/
I am a new convert to VLC when it comes to watching videos. So far it has the most codecs installed, it can play just about any video you might have. Best of all, it's for free. Realplayer may be free but it has lots of ads one may not care about.
What I find in VLC that's cool is that the volume can be controlled through the use of the mouse scroll.

Free webhosting with phpnet.us
I like this freewebhosting because their ads are at the end of your site, not embedded at the left or right which could be unsightly. For file management, I use FireFTP instead of their file manager within cpanel. Though they don't have 100% uptime, I still like it because of the big storage and bandwidth allowed.

Best FTP for me
I use FireFTP http://fireftp.mozdev.org/ to upload files to my websites. It's a plug-in for Firefox and so it' not separate app which you might forget which folder you stored it in, unless you have a shortcut. Very intuitive, pardon me, it's like using Windows Explorer (a, ya, so what else is new with FTP apps) with its point and click and brag and drop. I thought at first that they should already give option to store passwords but on the other hand, we can't be careless with them.
How to split a subtitle file
When there is only one subtitle file for use of two videos (two parts), you can snip the subtitle file into two.
Needed software
1. AVI player
2. Subtitle editor download: http://www.nikse.dk/se/
3. Videos
4. Subtitle file for the videos
Procedure:
1. Make sure the subtitle file corresponds to the video. To check: part 1 of the video should have the same filename as the subtitle file. When you play the video, the subtitles should match with the speeches.
2. Take note of the length of the first part. You can do this by opening it in VirtualDub software which gives you up to the millisecond of the length.
3. Open the subtitle file using the app. File > Open filename
4. Choose Tools > Split Subtitle
5. Enter the length of the first video, then click on Split button
6. Rename Part1 similarly as the first video, Part2 as second video
Voila! You can already see correct subs in each video. In case the complete video is split into more than two parts, repeat the procedure, this time making the latest file as the file to split.
