Mommy Dionisia lashes out at Miriam Defensor Santiago for her comments on Pacman's anti-RH Bill stand
(SPOT.ph) Dionisia Pacquiao, mother of boxing champ and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao, has lashed out at Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago over the latter's comments on the congressman's opposition to the Reproductive Health (RH) Bill, reports ABS-CBN News.
On Tuesday, Santiago said Pacquiao mistakenly interpreted the Bible in his defense of his stand against the RH Bill, reports ABS-CBN News. Dionisia said, "Huwag ang anak ko ang pakialaman niyo. (Ang pakialaman niyo) 'yong malaswa! Para kay Senator Miriam, parang binasura niya ang anak ko... Bakit mababa ang tingin niya sa anak ko? Si Manny, sinusunod lang ang utos ng Diyos."
("Don't gang up on my son. Focus on the vulgar! Why does Senator Miriam think so little of my son? He is only following God's law.")
Dionisia also claimed that Pacquiao's wife Jinkee took birth control pills only when they were newlyweds, reports ABS-CBN News. This statement comes after an article published in January, where Jinkee admitted to using contraceptive pills, circulated this week.
In response to Dionisia, Santiago, who earlier challenged Pacquiao to a fistfight over his anti-RH Bill stand, said, "I'm speechless. That's my only comment. That's a silly topic... Maghanap na lang tayo ng ibang kalaban. (Let's look for other opponents.)"
The Senator said the real fight is in the upper house which will soon start its own discussions on the Senate version of the RH Bill, reports ABS-CBN News.
