What defines a supposed great leader will no longer be

reassuring words from those who say they are.

If we're smart enough, we know that successful leadership is

a pattern of behavior taken from a persons' past and present.

This is the typical response you get from a supporter of Noynoy Aquino:

Regardless, whatever, no matter what, and who cares about what you've said because in my opinion, obeservations, and I feel deep in my heart that if ever Noynoy wins in 2010, what will happen is that everything will be unlike Arroyo's. There will be an obvious change.

I'm sick of Gloria Arroyo and I can see that it's only Noynoy who can deliver at this time. ONLY NOYNOY! Unfortunately, he will have to be in his mother's shoe when Cory carried the burdern of taking over the Marcos' mess.

It will be a repeat for Noynoy for he has no choice but clean the mess that Gloria will leave - that is if she does leave. Do I smell another martial law. Do I see another Marcos in the making?

What you see above is a comment posted on an old entry I wrote sometime in September.  It is here that I want to offer an analysis of the comment.

Regardless, whatever, no matter what, and who cares about what you've said because in my opinion, obeservations, and I feel deep in my heart that if ever Noynoy wins in 2010, what will happen is that everything will be unlike Arroyo's. There will be an obvious change.

How will Noynoy make this "obvious change" happen?  Has Noynoy Aquino laid out a clear and concrete set of actionable plans that will make "obvious change" happen? Pray tell, Leoneli, what "obvious change" do you expect to happen?

The Social Contract that he is bandying around is nothing but an aggregation of motherhood statements that his promoters concocted out of thin air and out of nowhere.  Even a simple examination of Noynoy Aquino's track record shows that he has not lived a life fighting corruption, generating employment, or any of the other things the Noynoy Social Contract says.

Take this for instance:

From a President who tolerates corruption  to a President who is the nation's first and most determined fighter of corruption.

Does the social contract point to a concrete action plan for wiping out corruption in government? It doesn't.  What it merely states is an eloquently worded aspiration, a platitude of sorts that sounds good until you ask how and find out that there is no answer that you can hold him to.

So far, the only concrete plan he has spoken about is a plan to get back the Marcos' wealth and this was something he spoke about during the declaration of his candidacy 40 days after his mother, Cory Aquino, was buried.  Certainly, there is a lot of emotional baggage attached to the case of Marcos' hidden wealth and it certainly demands closure, but then again, that's really not the bigger challenge when it comes to corruption.

Moreover, there are good arguements taking the position that corruption is not the single definiing problem that is keeping our country from attaining First World status.  You can read about it here.

The second part of the comment shows a fanatical belief that whatever it is that is wrong with this country, ONLY NOYNOY can fix it.

Why ONLY NOYNOY? Can't you or I by ourselves or together fix the problems we find in our midst?  Are we so completely helpless and in need of saving that we cannot rely on our own intelligence, strength and capacity to change the bad thing that are happening around us?

The idea of ONLY NOYNOY speaks about the chronic victim mentality that is constantly being nurtured and perpetuated by those who seek to gain power or keep power.  This mentality is a short step away from mendicancy and as far as I know, beggars cannot be choosers.  Since they are not choosers, they are dictated upon and this is the other half of an equation of a DICTATORSHIP - one part of the equation demands a despotic leader, the other part demands a people content in being subservient.

I'm sick of Gloria Arroyo and I can see that it's only Noynoy who can deliver at this time. ONLY NOYNOY! Unfortunately, he will have to be In his mother's shoe when Cory carried the burdern of taking over the Marcos' mess.

What makes my skin erupt in shivers and goosebumps is the emotionalism that follows this blind statement of dogma of ONLY NOYNOY.

Noynoy doesn't HAVE to fill his mother's shoes, but HE WANTS TO.  Or at least those goading him to run for President, WANT Noynoy to FILL CORY AQUINO's shoes.

And as if this BS weren't enough, what comes next makes me gag:

It will be a repeat for Noynoy for he has no choice but clean the mess that Gloria will leave - that is if she does leave. Do I smell another martial law. Do I see another Marcos in the making?

This, ladies and gentlemen is FEARMONGERING and it is patently associated with the group that supported the rise of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Remember the people who lead other people to start texting each other to mass at EDSA to overthrow Joseph Estrada in 2001 and install Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as President?  They are the same people that want you to vote for NOYNOY, they are referred to as the HYATT 10.

Believe me, when you vote for Noynoy, you will not be voting for him or his mother's memory.  You will be voting for an unseen cabal of elite political and economic interests.
